Who is responsible for the maintenance of the roads?
All the roads are built by the developers to plans agreed by Telford & Wrekin Council. The roads around the development will be adopted by the Local Authority and be maintained by them. Whilst each development phase is still under construction and until the roads are handed over, maintenance is the responsibility of the individual developers.
Bournville Stewardship Services will be responsible for the courtyards and some access roads. To date, these areas have not yet been handed over to Bournville Stewardship Services to manage and remain the responsibility of the individual developers.
Who is responsible for the maintenance of the street lighting?
The majority of the street lighting will be adopted by the Local Authority and will be maintained by them, although whilst each development phase is still under construction and until the roads and lighting are handed over, maintenance is the responsibility of the individual developers.
Bournville Stewardship Services will be responsible for the street lighting in the courtyards and on some public open spaces. To date, these areas have not yet been handed over to us to manage and remain the responsibility of the individual developers.
Who is responsible for the maintenance of the courtyards?
Bournville Stewardship Services will be responsible for the maintenance of the courtyards when they have been fully completed and legally handed over by the developers. To date, these areas have not yet been handed over to Bournville Stewardship Services to manage and remain the responsibility of the individual developers.
Until the courtyards are handed over, Bournville Stewardship Services has agreed to keep the courtyards clean and tidy and supply road salt for the courtyards on behalf of the developers.
Who is responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping?
The developers are responsible for installing all the soft landscaping on the site. Whilst the phases are still being built, the landscaped areas are maintained by the developers. When the phases are fully completed, the areas will be handed over to either Bournville Stewardship Services or Telford & Wrekin Council.
Who is responsible for controlling parking around the development?
All the roads around the development will be adopted by the Local Authority when they are fully completed. These roads will become public highway and the responsibility for controlling parking on these roads will be with the Police and Telford & Wrekin Council.
Bournville Stewardship Services do not have any legal authority to control parking on the public roads but will always work with residents, the Police and the council to highlight problem areas and try to find a solution.
Bournville Stewardship Services will have legal authority to control parking on areas of public open space and courtyards and will use the powers available to prevent nuisance parking in these areas.
Unfortunately, until the roads and public open spaces are fully completed and are adopted by the council or handed over to Bournville Stewardship Services, neither Bournville Stewardship Services nor the council can use their legal powers. The Police also only have limited powers when the roads are not adopted.
In the meantime, Bournville Stewardship Services relies on the co-operation of residents to park with consideration at all times and use their designated parking spaces.
Who is responsible for installing and emptying litter bins?
As part of the overall design of the development, there are many litter bins that will be installed by the developers across the development. When these areas are fully completed they will be handed over to either Bournville Stewardship Services or Telford & Wrekin Council and they will be responsible for emptying them.
Until the bins are handed over, the developers are responsible for emptying the bins, but to ensure the development stays tidy, the Bournville Stewardship Services Environmental Technician will also empty them if they are getting full.
